St. Dormeir: Wool Mattress Protectors
St. Dormeir washable wool mattress protectors are quilted in Spain with 100% Virgin New Zealand Wool, using a special unbleached, undyed 100% cotton terry cover. This cotton is quilted to the wool and extends down forming a stretchy skirt that fits snugly around the sides of the mattress, with an elastic band around the bottom edge for a good, secure fit. Available with 16" deep pockets (for mattresses up to 13" thick) or 24" deep pockets (for mattresses up to 21" thick). Weight is 250 g/m2.
Why St. Dormeir Wool?
If you want to feel cooler with a mattress pad, then this is the right move for you. Wool absorbs perspiration much better than polyester and will keep your mattress wonderfully clean and fresh. Its breath-ability keeps you cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. Some say this is the best mattress pad, and we tend to agree.
Wool also lasts for years and is naturally flame retardant. A special European milling process makes this wool completely machine washable, unlike typical wool pads that need to be dry cleaned. St. Dormeir protectors have the same convenience of polyester filled mattress pads with all the best characteristics of natural wool.
Customers who have bought the Tempurpedic mattresses or similar foam or latex mattresses & felt it slept too hot made this St. Dormeir wool mattress topper famous. Many discovered that it helps cool down their mattress without interfering with the feel.
Available with 16" deep pockets (for mattresses up to 13" thick) or 24" deep pockets (for mattresses up to 21" thick). Weight is 250 g/m2.
Care instructions: Machine wash with warm water on the gentle cycle using a mild detergent. Do not use chlorine bleach. Wash these protectors by themselves and do not overload the washing machine. Tumble dry on low heat.
Note: These mattress protectors are water resistant not water proof. Small swatches are available upon request.
A different mattress pad

Easy to put on and take off. Fits as it should and doesn't bunch up. With the sheet on top it is very comfortable to sleep on. It is cool on warm days and warm on cold days. A good alternative to polyester.
Great product and service!

My previous mattress pad from the foreign manufacturer of my expensive latex mattress cost the same almost 10 years ago and was just cotton. This time I did my homework and found all the high end product available. High end does not mean high cost if you consider how long you'll use the product and the comfort it delivers every night for that cost. The St. Dormier quality and comfort is immediately apparent. Good laundering instructions included will assure long life, and I received great service from Sandra Laughlin who kept me informed of my order.
THE BEST MATTRESS COVER!

I'm usually a budget shopper, but I did splurge a bit in buying this mattress cover, and I'm glad I did. It's well worth the price. My husband and I are sleeping more comfortably and the quality is supurb.

I bought this based on reviews and want to add my thumbs up to this mattress protector. I was concerned that it might be too warm, but it is not. It is soft, holds the sheet in place, and stays in place itself.
Soft, breathable mattress protector

This is a very comfortable mattress pad that doesn't cause you to sweat. Great over latex and memory foam beds.

Perfect. Can't believe I slept on a lumpy cotton mattress pad all these years. Wool regulates heat and moisture much better - and the terry cloth top makes a nice light textured underlay for smooth cotton sheets.

Great for Tempurpic mattress
Posted by Sweetpitbull on Oct 8th 2012
I searched high and low for a mattress pad that would be light and breathable enough for a Tempurpedic. Without this St.Dormier pad, our new mattress was WAY too hot. It's comforting (and comfortable) to know that it is made of natural fibers and that all the sweating we do on our new mattress will be absorbed (ha ha)! The mattress pad is a little big for the Tempurpedic, BUT it doesn't bunch up and is so easy to put on.
Lovin' it so far!

So far it's been great. Very comfortable, strikes a great (dare I say perfect) balance between soft and supportive - while it's definitely soft, I think it's actually moderated the softness of the top of my mattress which was a tad too plush. Can't speak to how well the wool breathes or keeps me cool during the warmer temps as we're only just getting into them, but I'm optimistic. I like it so much... there's a desire to get a protector for my protector - but that'd just be silly :)

This mattress protector is very well made of beautiful materials. It softens the feel of my too-firm mattress, so I now awaken without the usual aches and pains. Because it creates its own cozy microclimate between the sheets, sleeping is a pleasure.
