If you want to feel cooler with a mattress pad, then this is the right move for you. Wool absorbs perspiration much better than polyester and will keep your mattress wonderfully clean and fresh. Its breathability keeps you cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. Some say this is the best mattress pad, and we tend to agree.
Wool also lasts for years and is naturally flame retardant. A special European milling process makes this wool completely machine washable, unlike typical wool pads that need to be dry cleaned. St. Dormeir protectors have the same convenience of polyester filled mattress pads with all the best characteristics of natural wool.
Customers who have bought the Tempurpedic mattresses or similar foam or latex mattresses & felt it slept too hot made this St. Dormeir wool mattress topper famous. Many discovered that it helps cool down their mattress without interfering with the feel.
Available with 16" deep pockets (for mattresses up to 13" thick) or 24" deep pockets (for mattresses up to 21" thick). Weight is 250 g/m2.
Care instructions: Machine wash with warm water on the gentle cycle using a mild detergent. Do not use chlorine bleach. Wash these protectors by themselves and do not overload the washing machine. Tumble dry on low heat.
Note: These mattress protectors are water resistant not water proof. Small swatches are available upon request.

Buffer against mattress outgassing
Posted by cec on Dec 1st 2011
Having multiple chemical sensitivities, I decided to purchase two Tempur-Pedic Eco-Friendly mattresses, only to discover they out-gas like nearly all others available today. In the past my allergist advised me to use a thick mattress topper and two or three sheets (which works), but a thick topper interferes with Tempur-Pedic's pressure-adapting function. In desperation I turned to Sandra, who consistently gives thoughtful, personalized advice. She recommended this soft, lightweight protector and it works beautifully.

I needed to replace down/feather mattress cover for my own bed that made more mess and feather lint than you can imagine.. i waited years before finding this product that i could wash in my own machine--a ca king no less! insulation is perfect. no lint/no mess. As soon as I tried it, I bought a second one for my sweatbox son.. his room is so much the fresher now! Every bed in my home will soon have one and I've recommended to a friend who also bought and loved.
Perfect for latex mattresses
Posted by Songstress on May 11th 2011
I bought two twin xls to protect our latex mattresses on adjustable bases. These protectors work wonderfully on latex due to the ultra stretchiness. Wool is great to sleep on due to it's excellent ability to prevent overheating with it's breathability and wicking abilities, and the fact that these protectors are washable is a great bonus. I haven't spilled anything on our beds, yet I believe these protectors will provide a good resistance if not left to soak in too long. They are thin enough to not change the feel of the mattress, but give a small amount of extra cushion with the wool. A very good product.
The best mattress protector.... EVER!
Posted by Natalie on Sep 2nd 2010
Over the last two years I have tried 8 different mattress pads/protectors for my hybrid latex-foam mattress. They either have way too much stitching, are hot, or firm up the mattress. This protector from Dormeir is fantastic!! It regulates heat, is soft, stretchy, and you absolutely can't feel the stitching. My search is finally over and I couldn't be happier! Oh, and it's washable! Fantastic product worth every penny!
